Partner Organizations
Thank you for your interest in Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT)! GDYT depends on partner organizations like yours to support our efforts to help young people have meaningful summer work experiences.
To be considered as a partner organization for GDYT, your agency will need to submit an online proposal. We will no longer accept proposals that are not submitted through our online application platform. Full requirements and guidelines for GDYT partner agencies can be reviewed and downloaded here. Review the request for proposal (RFP) in full before beginning the application process.
Please note that this year’s Grow Detroit’s Young Talent gives special attention to job placements combined with pre-work readiness training and ongoing skill building for young people. It also includes regular guidance and support to employers that host young people at their workplaces through GDYT.
All partner agencies accepted to GDYT are expected to demonstrate a high capacity to implement:
- Twelve (12) hours of approved work readiness/employability training prior to the summer work placement;
- Quality, age-appropriate work experiences based on the tiered model described in the RFP;
- Continued job readiness training, including financial education, using an approved curriculum throughout the summer work experience; and
- Support to employers that need additional guidance on managing young workers.
Summer job placements will begin no earlier than July 6, 2015, and must end by August 28, 2015, unless other arrangements are made through Grow Detroit’s Young Talent.
